Right now, insurance companies usually pay nurses less than doctors for putting you to sleep before surgery. This bill would make insurers pay nurse anesthetists the higher doctor rate. While this is a big win for these nurses, insurance companies will probably raise your monthly premiums to cover the extra cost. It is a tug-of-war between two big groups over money, and everyday patients might end up footing the bill.
