Community Guidelines

Last updated July 14, 2026

Obillerate lets signed-in members rate and comment on elected officials. Holding representatives accountable means you can be blunt — but it's not a license to abuse people. These guidelines keep the conversation about the public record.

How moderation works

Profanity is blocked instantly. If your comment contains profanity — however you spell it — it won't post, and you'll be asked to rephrase.

Every other comment is reviewed before it appears. An automated moderator reads each comment — usually within a few seconds — and it only becomes visible to others once it passes. You can see your own comment the whole time (marked "checking"); if it doesn't pass, only you see it, with the reason.

Members can report comments. Enough reports hide a comment pending review. You can delete your own comments at any time.

A note on responsibility

Ratings and comments are the opinions of individual members, not of Obillerate. You are responsible for what you post. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these guidelines or our Terms of Use. Moderation is best-effort and imperfect; content being live does not mean we endorse it.
