This bill would give students more choices for how they earn their high school diploma. If it passes, kids who play in the marching band could use that time instead of taking a separate gym class or art class. Also, students with disabilities could join the Special Olympics to meet their gym class needs. This means more ways for all students to finish school and get their diploma. It could help students focus on what they love while still meeting graduation rules. This bill, S0556, has been put aside for now, with its ideas being looked at in another bill, CS/HB 453. People should still know about these ideas because they are still being considered by lawmakers and could become part of how future students graduate.
