The facts
What the bill actually says, no spin.
- Utilities cannot charge reconnection fees for residential customers.
- Utilities cannot turn off electric or gas service between June 21 and September 23 for homes with someone 65 or older or under 16.
- Utilities must identify new residential customers 62 or older and give them information on senior assistance programs.
- Utilities must provide a bill credit when electric service is interrupted.
