Right now, it is hard to know if health insurance companies are following the rules when they deny treatments. This bill would make the state team up with local doctors to investigate the insurers. If they find companies breaking the law, they will recommend new penalties. It is a great step for patients, but the state says the study will cost up to $1.5 million and the bill does not provide the money to pay for it.
