The Drivers License Bill
Register to vote when you get your drivers license
Relative to access to the centralized voter registration database on election days.
Good for everyday people ·
This bill lets you register to vote at the exact same time you get or renew your driver's license.
Our take
What we think, in plain words.
Registering to vote should not be a hassle. This bill makes it easy by pairing it with a trip you already have to make. When you show your documents to get a state ID, the clerk will hand you a voter form. You can fill it out right there. Then, the state will mail it to your local town clerk for you. It is a smart way to help more regular people vote.
