Provides corporation business tax credits and gross income tax credits to employers that hire certain individuals through One-Stop Career Centers.
Good for everyday people ·
This bill would give money back to businesses that hire people who finished special job training, helping those people find work.
Our take
What we think, in plain words.
This bill tries to help people who are out of work and have completed special job training get hired. It gives businesses a tax break, up to $3,000 per person, for hiring these "qualified employees" through One-Stop Career Centers. The idea is that this would make it easier for trained, unemployed people to find jobs and help businesses grow by giving them a reason to hire. Some might say this is a good way to use tax money to boost jobs and help people get back on their feet. Others might worry that it is a handout to businesses that might hire these people anyway, or that the tax breaks could mean less money for other important state programs. Since it is just introduced, now is the time to tell your lawmakers if you think this is a good idea for New Jersey.
