This bill would give businesses a tax discount if they build or upgrade a child care center for their workers.
Our take
What we think, in plain words.
Finding affordable child care is a huge struggle for working parents. This bill tries to help by offering companies a tax break to build daycares right where their employees work. To make sure it is not just a free corporate handout, the bill forces companies to keep the daycare open for at least five years. If they close it early, they have to pay the state back with interest.
