Right now, your electronic health records can be shared across state lines without you knowing. This bill would change that. It puts you in charge of who sees your most private medical history. If out of state officials try to snoop on your reproductive or gender care, you could block them. The bill does let the state health department make some exceptions, but overall it is a massive win for patient privacy. It forces big data networks to build tools that actually protect you while this bill is still moving through the legislature.
