The Skip Insurance Bill
Hospitals can skip insurance wait times for approved treatments
Revising gold card process to include hospitals or department hospitals
Good for everyday people ·
This bill lets doctors and hospitals skip the insurance waiting game for expensive treatments if they have a history of following the rules.
Our take
What we think, in plain words.
Insurance companies often make patients wait days for approval before they can get a treatment or medicine. This is called prior authorization. This bill expands a gold card system for doctors and hospitals. If a provider usually gets their requests approved anyway, they get a pass to skip the line for a whole year. This means you get your healthcare faster, without insurance companies standing in the way.
