The Leave Easier Bill
Delaware wants to make paid family leave easier to get
An Act To Amend Title 19 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Family And Medical Leave Insurance Program.
Good for everyday people ·
This bill would let workers use paid family and medical leave sooner, even if they have been at their job for less than a year.
Our take
What we think, in plain words.
Right now, Delaware workers have to wait a full year at a new job before they can take paid family or medical leave. This bill would change that. If you work enough hours, you could get the time off you need to care for a new baby or a sick family member without waiting 12 months. It is a big win for workers who change jobs or work long hours.
