Our take
What we think, in plain words.
This bill is a big deal for Texas families. If it passes, more parents could get paid time off when they have a new baby or adopt a child. This means they would not have to worry as much about losing money while caring for their new family member. Some might say that giving tax breaks means less money for other state programs. But supporters believe it helps families and encourages good business practices. If you think businesses should help new parents, now is the time to tell your state lawmakers.
